Liberty International is launching a brand new initiative called Socratic Reading Circles. It is a unique opportunity that aims to develop our own individual powers of reason and understanding and to help us create habits of critical thinking and effective and respectful ways of communication. The first cohort starts from 1st December 2022 with subsequent cohorts after every two months.

Become a part of the first cohort of elite Socratic Reading Circles to get a better understanding of free market principles and individual freedom. Liberty International will select 8 of the most promising applicants to engage in the project FOR FREE! Online sessions will be held once a week between December 1st, 2022 – January 31st, 2023. The exact time will be determined by the participants’ availability.

Each student will be awarded a physical copy of the book along with goodies from Liberty International and an opportunity to interact with the greatest minds from all over the world. Successful applicants will also get access to the Liberty International Alumni Group.

During the last session, we will be joined by the author of the book himself. There will be a possibility to interact with the author and ask questions.

The first edition of Socratic Reading Circles will start with “The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey” by Prof. Ken Schoolland. It is an international bestseller translated into over 55 languages and 80+ published editions. The book has won numerous awards and has been endorsed by Steve Forbes, Walter Williams, John Stossel, Mark Skousen, and Austrian-School economists and educators throughout the world.

About the book

The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible tells the story of a boy who becomes shipwrecked on an unfamiliar island after being swept out to sea in a storm. Having previously lived in a relatively free society, in this new strange land he experiences culture shock as he learns of bewildering laws and traditions of the island’s inhabitants.

The story highlights the absurdities of the laws, the controls imposed on people’s lives, and the economic drawbacks of these laws. The laws highlighted are recognizable as common to many countries throughout the world. As the story unfolds, the part individuals in society play in political decision-making and personal responsibility is introduced for discussion. As Jonathan meanders on his way around the Isle of Corrumpo, he meets the Food Police, Uncle Samta, the True Believers, the Grand Inquirer and the Democracy Gang along the way – along with many more wacky inhabitants whose strange ideas and even stranger ways Jonathan is challenged to understand and straighten out.

Our Vision

Our vision is simple: we want to make freedom a global matter. All our activities aim at bringing philosophy of liberty closer to every person around the world. We believe that it doesn’t matter where we start as long as we build relations. This is why most of the people we work with are students and recent graduates. We see the world free of governmental overpower yet full of individual responsibility. We see world freer, more open, and more individualized.
